Over a year into the pandemic, our top priority remains safe filming and photography for our clients, crews and talent. We produce a variety of product and lifestyle photography and video content for multiple categories including food, home, automotive, apparel, beauty and consumer package goods.

As a provider to essential services across grocery, pharmacy and telecommunications, we were quick to implement our Safe Shoot Studio Solution in April 2020. We continued to produced live video and photo shoots, all the while minimizing human contact, ensuring a safe environment on set, conducting client approvals remotely and maintaining high-quality creative output.

In summer 2020, we expanded our protocols to safety shoot clothing, accessories and products on live models and talent for broadcast and content marketing campaigns.

We also introduced the SJC Powered by Looklet Studio, which captures high-volume, high-quality and variable apparel photography designed specifically for e-commerce. Without live models, hair and makeup stylists or photographs required on set, it is a Covid-safe way to for brands to capture large amounts of content to keep up with today’s digital demand.

In recent months, as safety risks around Covid-19 transmission continue, we have implemented a number of new initiatives to increase the safety of everyone on set. These include:

  • UVC germicidal sanitizing lamps to help reduce harmful germs and bacteria on high-touch surfaces and objects. (UVC light is the type of UV light that’s most effective at killing germs, including the new coronavirus).
  • Onsite Covid Coordinators charged with ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Daily temperature screening for every staff member and visitor.
  • Covid rapid testing for crews of 10 or more.
  • Hepa air filtration to keep indoor air fresh and potentially reduce exposure.
  • PPE face shields available for talent.

These are in addition to:

  • Production schedules arranged to limit the number of people on set at one time.
  • Record-keeping of all all persons on set.
  • Social distancing markers placed in high-traffic areas.
  • Masks required by all staff and visitors.
  • Remote access for proofing video and photography; a safe and effective way for clients to be virtually on set.
  • Client proofing for video via Teradek VidiU technology, which allows our film camera to send a live HD feed to a secure cloud-based online viewing platform. Client teams can watch remotely and provide real-time feedback to the SJC studio team.
  • A wireless monitor solution on set to keeps crew safely connected from a distance.
  • Strict and regular disinfecting of all surfaces and equipment, including lighting, cameras, viewing screens and a library of seamless backgrounds.

Our Safe Shoot Studio solution enables our teams to work with clients to produce new and relevant content for a variety of marketing needs from direct-to-consumer e-commerce channels to print, digital, social media and retail signage.
