SJC Media has received 36 nominations at this year’s National Magazine Awards.
Announced by the National Media Awards Foundation on April 30, the nominations span five SJC Media brands—Toronto Life, Maclean’s, Chatelaine, Châtelaine and FASHION—and recognize work across a wide range of categories, formats and disciplines.
Toronto Life earned 15 nominations across both visual and written categories. Maclean’s and Chatelaine are each nominated for Best Magazine in their respective categories, alongside multiple nominations for written and visual work. FASHION is recognized for its photography and branded content work, while Châtelaine is up in feature writing.
Jason Maghanoy, publisher of Maclean's, Toronto Life and Canadian Business, is up for Publisher of the Year.
SJC received four nominations in branded content categories, highlighting the strength of its work with clients to apply magazine storytelling and creative across custom content and integrated campaigns. A closer look at this work will be shared in a separate feature.
Today’s Parent also earned a nomination at the Digital Publishing Awards in the Arts & Culture Storytelling category, and Pivot, custom published by SJC in partnership with CPA Canada, received eight nominations at the National Magazine Awards: B2B.
These nominations reflect the collective effort behind each story, recognizing the contributions of writers, editors, designers, art directors, photographers, illustrators, stylists and fact-checkers.
