Julia Seidl has joined SJC Media as editor-in-chief of Chatelaine.

Julia brings 15 years of editorial and content experience, including roles as fashion and beauty editor at HELLO! Canada and editor-at-large at Sur La Terre Arabia, along with contributions to FASHION, ELLE Canada, Today’s Parent, FLARE and the Toronto Star. More recently, she has led content strategy for global e-commerce brands, with a focus on growing audiences and revenue.

“Julia brings strong editorial instincts, a clear sense of who our readers are and an exciting vision for the future of Chatelaine,” says Kyle Joe, VP of Content, SJC Media. “What impressed us most was her ability to connect everything that makes the brand special with what matters to Canadian women today.”

Chatelaine has been a brand for Canadian women since 1928 and will mark its 100th anniversary in 2028. Today it reaches readers through print, digital, social, its Group Chat podcast, in-person events and award programs like The Beauty Awards.

Julia sees an opportunity to build on Chatelaine’s legacy, bring new ideas and voices to the forefront, create new franchises and experiences and reach even more audiences.

“While preparing for this role, I ran a small survey, and every woman I asked described Chatelaine as both intelligent and trustworthy. That reputation was shaped by so many talented people over the years, and I can’t wait to build on it with this team,” says Julia.

She will work closely with Tobiasz Woroniecki, publisher of Chatelaine and Châtelaine; Camille Cardin-Goyer, editor-in-chief of Châtelaine; and Sun Ngo, creative director of Chatelaine, on the brand’s creative vision and visual direction.
