On February 13, ABC’s 20/20 airs a true crime special on the Ashley Schwalm murder case, titled "Footprints in the Snow."
The broadcast includes Toronto Life writer Luc Rinaldi, who was approached by 20/20 to consult after writing the magazine’s widely read investigative feature, “Murder in the Blue Mountains.”
In the piece, Rinaldi reports on a case that stunned a close-knit Ontario community: Ashley and James Schwalm appeared to have a fairy tale life—two children, successful careers and a beautiful home near the private ski club where they met. Then Ashley’s remains were discovered in a burned-out car at the bottom of a ditch, and investigators began to focus on her husband.
