The evening will bring together Canada’s leading executives and entrepreneurs to celebrate innovation while exploring the bold ideas and leadership shaping Canada’s future.
The Canadian Business (CB) Innovation Awards return on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Toronto Region Board of Trade.
Launched in 2022, the awards recognize the country’s most ingenious and forward-thinking companies redefining industries and shaping Canada’s future.
The reimagined 2026 format, hosted in partnership with Maclean’s, is presented by BMO, with Tricon as VIP reception sponsor. The awards come at a time of increasing uncertainty for Canadian businesses and will honour leaders across five categories: Social Impact, Financial Services, Sustainability, Technology, and Arts, Media and Marketing.
“Take a scan of the headlines over the past year, and you’ll see they’ve been dominated by shake-ups in the business world—from tariffs disrupting supply chains to AI reshaping workforces,” said Katrya Bolger, editor of Canadian Business. “Canadian companies are navigating uncertainty more than ever. But amid these pressures, forward-thinking organizations are forging ahead.”
Winners will be recognized across Canadian Business and Maclean’s media channels, with features in print and digital editions of Maclean’s.
Past CB Innovation Awards winners include Wealthsimple, Pinterest, Maple, Ecobee, Nixit, Borrowell and Lendesk.
This year’s event will bring together over 100 senior executives and entrepreneurs from some of Canada’s most dynamic organizations and is designed as a premium, full program experience, including:
