SJC is celebrating 65 years of print by asking: what is print to you?

While print certainly ties back to our roots, the focus is on the role of print in our lives today. Printed materials like books, magazines and mail give us a way to connect with people and the topics we care about – while disconnecting us from the never-ending flow of digital news and messages. Print is also an important source of trust in our world today. The Kantar Dimensions 2020 reported 37% of people worldwide to have conviction in print; the most of any medium. The time and thoughtfulness that goes into printed content, as well as its inherent tangibility, give it a unique stance in today’s media landscape.

We are inviting our staff, clients and magazine readers to share a word that describes their personal connection with print. It might be a feeling, an experience, a habit. We asked our SJC staff and here are few examples: Perspective, Relaxation, Voice and Focus.

A print ad campaign will run across SJC Media magazines in April and May and digital ads are running on Strategy online. Promotions are also running on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.

All participants will be entered in a draw to win one of 25 print-themed prize bundles that includes, one-year magazine subscription $50 towards a local Canadian independent bookstore and a digital copy of our Quill & Quire‘s Books for Everybody to inspire #shoplocal book selections.

To enter, fill out the form here or spread the word by sharing on social with hashtag #PrintIs.
