The award-winning media brand will celebrate Canada’s most progressive companies in a new annual recognition program.

Toronto, ON (August 26, 2021) – Canadian Business is excited to announce its inaugural New Innovators List in partnership with the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship. The multi-platform initiative will recognize the trailblazing companies that are challenging the status quo and redefining what it means to be truly innovative—with great products and services, innovative leadership, and forward-thinking social and environmental initiatives.
An evolution of CB’s popular Growth 500 ranking, the New Innovators looks at companies driving innovation in their sector and demonstrating progressive measures of success beyond year-over-year revenue growth, also considering companies’ commitments to sustainability, employee well-being, and diversity and inclusion.
“Recognition in the New Innovators List will allow Canadian companies to showcase the important work they are doing to advance product and service offerings in their sector, while also quantifying and giving third-party legitimacy to the progressive, value-led ways they run their business,” said Charlotte Herrold, editor-in-chief, Canadian Business.
The New Innovators will be published in the January 2022 issue of Canadian Business, following the highly anticipated relaunch of the magazine and website this fall. The companies on the New Innovators List will also be celebrated through Innovators Awards and a multi-day Innovators Summit to follow.
In addition, winning companies will:
- Reach engaged audiences through print, digital and social media channels across SJC Media’s network
- Receive expert guidance from Canadian Business on how to best promote their winning organization
- Secure networking opportunities with other New Innovators and exclusive access to marquee influencer events
- Unlock special advertising rates and custom content opportunities for New Innovators only
Companies may declare their candidacy by filling out the application ballot before the entry deadline of September 17, 2021. Applications will be evaluated by a team of jurors from Canadian Business, the Brookfield Institute and partners.
