St. Joseph Content wins Silver Apex Award at Digital Signage Expo

 

Las Vegas, Nevada (February 24, 2011) — St. Joseph Content | Alchemy’s digital content solution and interactive kiosk for Bell won a Silver Apex Award in the retail category at the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) in Las Vegas. The DSE is the world’s largest trade show and conference dedicated to digital signage, interactive technology, and out-of-home networks.

To honour innovation in the development and deployment of technology for global digital out-of-home networks, the prestigious award was presented in front of a record audience at the annual DSE Awards Banquet on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Paris Hotel.

The Apex Award is a significant win for Alchemy; it is judged independently by industry experts and the criteria for selection are based on the creative or technological solution to a digital signage installation challenge. This year, Apex Awards were presented to winners in 10 categories, from a field of 78 outstanding entrants.

The winning project was initiated when Bell engaged Alchemy to design a complete digital solution for Bell’s new flagship retail store in Toronto. Working closely with Bell’s digital media and IT teams, the Alchemy team delivered an innovative and comprehensive digital content solution that included strategic planning, technology selection, programming, animation, copy writing, and installation.

Multi-touch interactive kiosks were deployed as a key in-store sales tool for promoting Bell’s products, educating customers, and supporting sales associates. Content was created for five zones including a unique three-screen interactive experience; some zones were equipped with tethered devices connected to a hardware measurement box that triggers content. Installation of the first implementation was completed in June 2010, and additional roll-outs are ongoing.
