St. Joseph CEO named Outstanding Volunteer

 

Toronto, Ontario (December 2, 2010) — St. Joseph Communications is thrilled to announce that Executive Chairman and CEO Tony Gagliano was named Outstanding Volunteer by the Greater Toronto Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for their 2010 Philanthropy Awards.

The AFP Greater Toronto Chapter is a recognized leader in promoting philanthropy and providing education, training and best practices for those in the fundraising profession. It has been honouring leadership in philanthropy through its annual awards program since 1995. Fellow recipients include Loblaws Companies Ltd. as Outstanding Corporation and Toronto Community Foundation as Outstanding Foundation.

"Mr. Gagliano is a businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist whose outstanding volunteer contributions centre on health care, education and the arts," according to the award citation. "His extraordinary contribution to the betterment of society sets him apart as an outstanding volunteer and a visionary leader, who has helped transform the cultural and educational landscape in Canada."

Tony's list of volunteer contributions includes co-founder of Luminato, Toronto's annual arts festival, president of the Art Gallery of Ontario board of trustees, cabinet member of Ryerson University, board member of Metrolinx and the Toronto 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games, council member of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and an honorary board member of Scouts Canada.
