Gaetano Gagliano
Honorary Chairman and Founder, St.
Joseph Communications
Gaetano Gagliano founded St. Joseph Printing
in 1956 with a single letterpress
operation in the basement of his home.
Through his vision, dedication, and
sound investment, the business grew
steadily over the years to become
the largest privately owned communications company in Canada.
Tony Gagliano
Executive Chairman and CEO, St. Joseph Communications
Since 1995, Tony Gagliano has served as Executive
Chairman and CEO of St. Joseph Communications
and continues to uphold his father’s
vision: to build a print and communications
company unlike any other. Under Tony’s
guidance and leadership, St. Joseph
Communications has emerged as a tour
de force within the industry, offering our clients the most
comprehensive suite of integrated
solutions in content, print, documents, and media. Tony’s former positions
include President and General Manager
of St. Joseph Printing. He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Association, a board member of the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation Board and the Art Gallery of Ontario, a cabinet member of Ryerson University and an honorary board member of Scouts Canada. Tony is also co-founder and co-chairman of Luminato, Toronto’s Festival of Arts and Creativity.
Frank Gagliano
Vice Chairman, St. Joseph Communications
Frank has over 30 years experience in the communications and graphic arts industry, including more than 10 years as President of a Toronto-based advertising agency. During the last 20 years as a shareholder and senior executive at St. Joseph Communications, Frank has been instrumental in directing the company through key acquisitions, including the privatization of the Queen's Printer when the federal government outsourced the Canada Communication Group, which doubled the size of the company overnight. As President of St. Joseph’s Documents platform, Frank led the group through a total convergence strategy. Today, Frank has turned his attention to enterprise-wide convergence, focusing on opportunities for acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and new start-ups that align with the company’s strategic plan. Frank is a founding member of CORE (Centre of Outsourcing Research and Education) and sits on their board. He also sits on the board of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Foundation and other public and advisory boards.
Tim Zahavich
Chief Financial Officer, St. Joseph Communications
Tim Zahavich rejoined St. Joseph Communications as Chief Financial Officer in 2006, a position he held from 1999 to 2000. During his previous tenure, Tim oversaw and directed all areas of financial responsibility including internal controls, tax and treasury, and financial reporting and analysis. He was also instrumental in strengthening our financial profile through the raising of public debt. In the time in between, Tim held the post of Chief Financial Officer in a number of public companies including COM DEV International and Gennum Corporation. His extensive knowledge in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, tax planning, and capital raising coupled with his excellent relationships within the financial community are a great asset to St. Joseph Communications.
Karen Hacker
Senior Vice President and General Counsel, St. Joseph Communications
Karen Hacker joined St. Joseph Communications in 2003 as Vice-President and General Counsel, providing legal counsel
on a wide range of corporate legal policies and issues.
In her past positions with Irwin Toy Limited, Cineplex
Odeon Corporation, and Goodman and Carr, Karen has
developed legal expertise in domestic and international
real estate and lease transactions, corporate filings
and minute book maintenance, intellectual property
rights, trademarks and patents, packaging, advertising,
and employment matters.
John Gagliano
President, St. Joseph Print and St. Joseph Documents
As President of our Print and Documents platforms, John Gagliano oversees St. Joseph Communications’ four major print facilities as well as our 54 digital print centres across the country. Under John’s direction, St. Joseph Print is in the final stages of completing its multi-million dollar plant revitalization program designed to strengthen its competitive position and increase its current capacity. Since joining the organization in 1982, John has held various positions in all aspects of the business. John has been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization for the past seven years. He currently sits on the boards of the Children’s Aid Foundation, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation, the Canadian Opera Company and Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation.
Douglas Knight
President, St. Joseph Media
Douglas Knight joined St. Joseph Media in 2006 following his return to
Toronto from New York, where he served as founding chairman and CEO of
ImpreMedia, LLC, the largest Spanish-language newspaper company in the
United States. A 30-year media veteran, Doug is the former publisher
and CEO of both The Financial Post and Toronto Sun. He is a director of
Falconbridge Limited and a trustee of the Governor General's Performing
Arts Awards. Active in the community, Doug has served numerous arts,
industry and community organizations and sits on corporate boards in
Canada and the U.S.
Doug Templeton
President, St. Joseph Content
Doug Templeton has over 30 years of experience in providing content strategies, content creation and content delivery solutions for major retail and catalogue companies. Joining St. Joseph in 1996, he quickly progressed within the organization, holding such positions as Director of Sales and Executive Vice-President of St. Joseph Content. Doug played an integral role in managing the successful outsource of the retail, catalogue, signage and web programs for one of Canada's leading retailers. Appointed to President of St. Joseph Content in January 2008, Doug now oversees over 450 specialists from three integrated business units, delivering strategic solutions in the areas of package and store design, branding, digital signage, architectural wayfinding, prepress and photography.
